During 4-7 and 11-15 December 2023 SUCCESSFUL team organized interactive sessions to discuss the existing and desired future educational approaches on climate change and sustainability curricula. The online survey for the teaching staff to both UWU and SUSL teaching staff showed there is a clear need for climate change related education to all the faculties and departments with more than 75% of the teachers giving a high priority to basic climate change understanding to all fields. This was verified during the focus group discussions with students showing that open access climate change course would be beneficial to all students of the university regardless of the field. The curriculum review showed there are climate change related courses in different degree programmes, but these exist in scattered a way and specific to a certain discipline/degree.
In the teaching observations during practicals and classes it was found that there is a lot of potential in diversifying the teaching and learning approaches as well as in creating innovative learning spaces (facilities and equipment).
