On March 10 2023 SUCCESSFUL organised a stakeholder meeting with most relevant stakeholders working with climate change and sustainability related education, research and policies in Sri Lanka. The workshop was attended by more than 40 participants from civil society, the government, private sector and academia including e.g. Presidential Secretariat Office of Sri Lanka, National Science Foundation, Climate Change Secretariat, Sustainable Sri Lanka & the Maldives, International Water Management Institute, USAid, World Vision Sri Lanka, Integrated Development Association, Janathaksan GTE Limited, Dilmah Tea. The consortium partners SUSL, UWU, WUR and UTU shared the project approach and objectives for Climate Change University and discussed the synergies to the presented idea of the president office on International Climate Change University (ICCU) launched in the UNFCCC’s COP 27. As a result of the event the project was able to integrated feedback from the most crucial stakeholders to ensure the project is relevant and responds to the climate change educational needs of Sri Lanka. In addition, the project has identified synergies and areas for collaboration to continue to add value to the direction of the wider stakeholders.
